Our Playgroup
We provide sessional play for children between the ages of 2 years to school age. We want our playgroup to provide a stimulating environment in which children can take their first steps away from home into a structured group. Our aim is to ensure that children settle in well and are given the opportunity to develop skills needed to equip them for nursery and school. We work with parents to settle their child to ensure we meet each individual child's needs. Our staff are registered by the CIW (Care Inspectorate Wales) and are on the premises at all times when the children are present. We are registered and insured to provide for 20 children at a time.
We are inclusive and cater for all individual needs and abilities. We offer a range of strategies to support children and have links with outside agencies (speech, language etc.) for a range of teaching styles to cater for different needs. Learning in this age group is quite basic as the children are still learning to differentiate between yes and no and right and wrong. The language used at playgroup is English and we aim to help children build upon their vocabularies thus increasing their confidence in their spoken word, we also introduce children to basic welsh. Parents and children are encouraged to visit the Playgroup prior to joining the group. We do accept children in nappies and have a nappy changing policy for parents to sign. Session Times
