Activities
Activities are freely available at each playgroup session. We also aim to encourage each child’s educational and social development through the five areas of learning which meet The New Curriculum for Wales, and NMS (National Minimum Standards). We hope to develop the child’s language, social, physical, creative, mathematical, literacy and Welsh language skills.
The children are encouraged to take part in all the activities that we offer, so to avoid damage to expensive clothing we recommend older clothes for the session. Aprons are provided during activities such as painting or gluing, but this does not guarantee that they will remain clean. Our main objective is to provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment for the children. Pets and Animals We do not keep pets on the premises; we do however have visits from pets. The types of animal visitors that may come into the setting are: · Dogs · Cats · Hamsters · Rabbits · Tortoises · Guinea pigs · Hedgehogs · Chickens Children will wash their hands after touching the animals. If any child is allergic to a certain animal, that pet would not be allowed in to the group. Recording Development Observations are made of your child throughout the year. These observations are then transferred into their Development Folders. Parents are invited to view their child's folder at the end of each term and have the opportunity to discuss their child’s progress. Snack A healthy snack is provided at a cost of 50p per day, per child. Daily snack is displayed on the notice board. Milk and water is offered. Please let us know if your child has special dietary requirements. |
